Sarah E. Smith

Sarah E. Smith, 84, Lapel, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2006, at Fall Creek Retirement Village in Pendleton following a sudden illness.
She was born on January 21, 1922, in Alexandria, Indiana to Wade and Leona (East) Smith.
She retired in 1986 from Brockway Glass in Lapel after 30 years of employment.
She was a member of Fishersburg Wesleyan Church. Sarah was very artistic and enjoyed painting and ceramics. She also was an avid gardener and she liked nature and wildlife.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Lawrence Smith of New Castle, Patty Savage of Milan, Ray Smith, Jr. of Knightstown, Norma Bunnell of Anderson, Deena Smith of Anderson, and Kris Smith of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary C. Smith; and three brothers, Bernard Smith, Ray Smith, and Norman Smith.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Raymond Hood officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
