Ms. Sarah Belle Johnson

Sarah Belle Sparks Johnson, 88, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Lapel, to Dallas and Juel (Stringer) Sparks. Sarah graduated from Lapel High School in 1950 and the retired from Delco Remy after 32 years. She enjoyed spending her time with her family while at the river where she enjoyed camping and fishing. Sarah is survived by her children, Michael (wife, Michele) Johnson, Connie (husband, Dave) Smith, and Patty (husband, Jim) Crull; grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, Doug) Deffner, Nikki (husband, Phil) Peterson, Kristi (husband, Floyd) Davis, Kimberly (husband, Glen) Appel, and Jamie Harris; and great-grandchildren, Kendrick, Ryley, Halee, Floyd, David James “DJ”, Rory, Braydin, Brea, and Alexis. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Charles O. Johnson; parents; four brothers; two sisters; and faithful four-legged friend, Buddy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 6 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
