Sarah Ann Sorg

Sara Ann Sorg, 89, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born October 2, 1925 in Columbus, OH, the daughter of the late William and Cecelia (Maddox) Miller. She moved to Anderson in 1945 and married Edward W. Sorg in June 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2005.

Sara worked as a Bookkeeper and Treasurer of the F.C. Cline Lumber Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1990. After retirement, she worked as the manager of St. Ambrose School cafeteria from 1992-2002 and also in the Cash office at Meijer for 5 years.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Altar-Rosary Society, a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #266 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #408 in Chesterfield.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Pointe and St. Vincent Hospice.

Sara is survived by her children, Kathleen (Dennis) Harney of Indianapolis, Michael Sorg of Anderson, John (Lori) Sorg of Westfield and Deborah (Tom) Corlew of Lafayette; six grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
