Sara Mcdonald

Sara M. McDonald, 98, Eustis, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, FL. She was born on June 21, 1914, in Anderson, Indiana to Franklin and Jessie (Haines) Mills. Sara retired in 1970 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson after 39 years of employment. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eustis, FL and a member of the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star Chapter 457 She is survived by two sisters, Francis Schuyler and Mary Pettigrew both of Anderson; one brother, George Lackey of Anderson; three sisters-in-law, Maxine McDonald of Pendleton, Helen McDonald of Bradenton, FL, and Marlene Lackey of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas M. McDonald; and two brothers, Nolan Lackey and John Lackey. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Stephen Passmore officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, Noblesville. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
