Mr. Samuel V. Graves

Samuel “Sam” V. Graves, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital. He was born September 12, 1928, in Harlan, KY to the late Robert P. & Grace (Elliott) Graves. Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors after 32 years. He attended Kingston Avenue Baptist Church. Sam is survived by his sons, Samuel V. Graves, Jr., and John (wife, Marsha) Graves; two brothers; two sisters; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and fifteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Barbara Graves & Gladys Graves; one sister; and four brothers. Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 8, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until time of services.
