Ruth M. Goff, 99, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born on May 2, 1917, in Columbus, Indiana to Carl and Maude (Moore) Neal.

Ruth worked at Brockway Glass, the former Cascadden Grocery and as a cook in the Lapel School cafeteria.

She was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel.

She is survived by two children, Jack C. (wife, Sue) Goff of Greenfield, and Anita Goff Kirby of Lapel; six grandchildren, David (wife, Beth) Goff, Todd (wife, Susan) Goff, Eddie (wife, Susan) Goff, Marcie (husband, Mike) Gilbert, Andrea (husband, Gary) Baldwin, and Scott (wife, Dodie) Kirby; fourteen great-grandchildren; twenty-one great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Horace Goff; two brothers, Homer Neal and Bill Neal; and one sister, Mary Neal.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm Monday, July 11, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Glenn Knepp officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
