ANDERSON- Ruth E. Bahler, 90, of Anderson, passed away March 20, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis, after a sudden illness.
She was born July 21, 1924 in Decatur, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bernard) Kintz and has lived most of her life in Anderson.
She graduated from Decatur Catholic High School, Indiana University, with a B.S. Degree in nursing and the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Fort Wayne. She retired in 1986 from the West Central School Corporation where she worked as a school nurse. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the National Nurses Association.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert H. Bahler of Anderson; one daughter, Theresa (Gary) Chambers of West Baden; her sisters, Marjorie Schultz of Decatur, Isabelle (Philip) Gamble of Edmonds, WA, Patricia (Larry) Daniels of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kintz and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Alice Whitright, Delores Read, Helen Louise Ruggles, Berniece Hackman and John A. Kintz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Mark Walter officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
