Russell L. “Bud” Weisheit

Russell L. “Bud” Weisheit, 93, of Franklin and former New Castle resident, passed away April 25, 2018 at the Indiana Masonic Home- Health Center in Franklin. He was born April 23, 1925 in Huntingburg and was a New Castle resident most of his life. Bud was a Cadiz High School graduate. He was a lifelong farmer. Bud attended the Greensboro Church of the Nazarene, member of the Greensboro Masonic Lodge No. 175 F.&A.M. since 1952, longtime member of Kennard Lions Club, member of Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine Temple, Henry County Shrine Club, New Castle Elks Lodge, and Henry County Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilbert and Grace (Niehaus) Weisheit; wife, Lois (Taylor) Weisheit; grandson, Scott Beach; and sister, Dorothy Martin. Survivors include his children, Judy (husband, Ronnie) Sowers of New Castle, Mike (wife, Susie) Weisheit of Fort Wayne, Jim (companion, Darlene) Weisheit of Kennard, and Bonnie Gwaltney of Greenfield; sister, Marian (husband, Jim) Allen of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, 130 S. Main St.,Wilkinson, Indiana 46186 with Revs. Gene Bennett and Randy Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens, New Castle. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
