Roy D. Chancellor, 97, of Pendleton, passed away January 12, 2019 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson.He was born June 23, 1921 in Deering, Missouri and was a Pendleton resident since 1950.Roy retired from sales for United Insurance Company and John Hancock Insurance Company. He also was owner and operator of the Post Truck Stop and Sinclair Filling Station in Pendleton as well as a salesman for Elder-Beerman Department Store in Anderson.Roy was a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II.He was a member of Madison Masonic Lodge No. 44 F.&A.M., Pendleton for over 50 years and was the oldest living member of Pendleton AMVETS Post 26.Survivors include his daughter, Brenda (Richard) Wolfgang of Pendleton; step-sons, John (Elizabeth) Kuhns of Arvada, Colorado and Rick (Janeal) Kuhns of Pendleton; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson.He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy D. and Uretta (Reed) Chancellor, Sr.; his wife, Hilda M. (Michael) Chancellor who died March 16, 1995; step-son, Charles Kuhns; and sister, Luetta Dotson.Services at 11 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Reverend Glenn Knepp officiating. A private family graveside service and burial will take place in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and will include military honors.Visitation from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Lahm Chapel will include a masonic memorial service at 5:30 p.m.
