Ross H. Becker, 92, of Anderson, departed this life to his heavenly home on April 25, 2016, following a brief illness.
He was born February 6, 1924, in Indianapolis, the son of the late Lloyd and Jomyla (Bruner) Becker and had lived in Anderson most of his adult life.
Ross was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in Northern France and was awarded a Bronze Star. After his return from the war, he married the love of his life, Norma Jean “Jeanne” Hale and remained with her for 70 years. He retired from Delco Remy after 44 years of employment.
Ross’s words and deeds demonstrated his faith in Christ. As a true servant of Christ, he served in many capacities in churches in Anderson including as a Sunday School Superintent, Deacon and Trustee. He continued to visit nursing homes and minister by playing the organ. He was a loving, kind, and gracious man of faith, a true prayer warrior, and a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the organ at Lambert’s Music Center and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean “Jeanne” Becker; a brother, John (Shirley) Robertson of Hope; two nephews; his beloved dog, Dee-Dee; and his church family including, Victor and Jeanne Christoff, Benny and Vicki Price and Phil and Judy Lambert.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Doug Stein officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 266.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Christian Academy.
