Rosemarie J. Novak, of Anderson, Indiana passed away January 21, 2025, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson. She was born on August 25, 1929 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Louis & Stella (Slapnicar) Legan. Rosemarie graduated from Providence High School in Joliet, Illinois.
Rosemarie especially loved her family and loved to play Yahtzee & Euchre with her loved ones. She was an active member of St. Ambrose Church including being a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Pro-Life Movement and enjoyed bible study at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Most of all, she was a devout Catholic.
She is survived by her 6 children, Michael (Diane) Novak of Greensburg, Indiana, Dan (Misty) Novak of Anderson, Jodi VanWinkle of Anderson, Robert Novak of North Carolina, Ray (Natalie) Novak of Pendleton & Susan (Jim) Traitz of Florida; 5 siblings, Pat Jaskowiak, Ernie (Ruby) Legan, Judy Legan, Joni (Steve) Clyatt & Tom (Teresa) Legan; 12 Grandchildren, Craig, Matthew, Joel, Brytni, Kati, Lauren, Amy, Jessica, Heather, Alexis, Jeanie & Patrick; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Novak; parents; daughter, Mary Jean Novak; son in law, Pat VanWinkle; daughter in law, LaDonna Novak; grandson, Zachary Novak; brother, Jim Legan; & sisters, Nancy Thorndyke and Lois Noble.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln Street, Anderson, Indiana on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Tom Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00-2:00pm on Saturday at the church.
The Novak family would like to thank Rosemarie's caregivers and staff at Visiting Angels, and most recently the staff at Community Hospital and Bethany Point Health Campus.
