Ronald "Ronnie" Plummer, 81, Lapel, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following an extended illness. He was born on December 14, 1930, in Anderson, Indiana to Carl and Clara (Trick) Plummer. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1949 and served in the U. S. Air Force in the Korean War. Ronnie retired in 1982 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors and was a barber for many years in Lapel. He was a member of the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625; Lapel American Legion Post 212; U. A. W. Local 662; and he had served on the Lapel Park Board. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. (Stohler) Plummer; three children, Mike Plummer (companion, Jerri Buck) of Anderson, Debbie (husband, Brad) Bunnell of Lapel, and Denny (wife, Julie) Plummer of Muncie; four grandchildren, Jana Gross, Julie (husband, Dave) Kitchell, Erin Plummer, and Ian Lamb; four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Max, Golda, and Minnie; one brother, Jerry (wife, Jan) Plummer of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold Wayne Plummer. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, January 16, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will perform Military Graveside Rites. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel and a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0606.
