Ronald J. Koomler, 81, Anderson, passed away January 7, 2016, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born April 29, 1934, in Ft. Wayne, the son of the late Allen and Clara Koomler. Ron graduated from Elmhurst High School, served in the US Army and moved to Anderson in 1962. He was a florist for 60 years owning and operating K’s Blossom Shoppe for many years retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and served as a trustee for over 20 years. He was very active in the Men’s Lenten Breakfast and as a Boy Scout Leader.
Ron is survived by his three children, Kevin Koomler of Anderson, Karen (Marc) Forman of Middletown, Kaye L. Koomler of Anderson and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis A. Koomler and six siblings including his twin brother, Donald.
Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Jake Fisher officiating. Burial will be at Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
