Ronald Gene Broyles

Ronald Gene Broyles, 73, of Anderson, passed away June 22, 2017, at his residence. He was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Anderson, the son of the late John and Lucinda (Bricker) Broyles and was a lifelong Anderson resident. Gene was a 1962 graduate of Highland High School. He retired in 1991after thirty years of employment with Delco-Remy. Gene enjoyed all kinds of sports. He played baseball, softball, tennis and golf. He also restored old tractors and participated in antique tractor pulls. He had a very generous spirit and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen Broyles; daughter, Lisa (Steve) McDaniel of Grand Rapids, Mi.; son, Tom (Kelly) Broyles of Greens Fork: five grandchildren, Cole (Caitlyn) McDaniel of Kalamazoo, Mi., Caleb (Amber) McDaniel of Grandville, Mi., Clay (Gracie) Broyles of Richmond, Jordan (Alex Young) Broyles and Matthew Broyles, both of Greens Fork; brothers and sister, Robert Broyles of Anderson, Lee (Virginia) Broyles of Muncie, Beverley Ann Secrest of NC; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Cherie Demick; several nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins. Services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service and Crematory with Pastor Steve McDaniels officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
