Ronald D. Childers

Ronald D. Childers, 86, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson following a brief illness.He was born on September 1, 1934, in Anderson to Earl and Hilda (Schmatz) Childers.Ron retired from the former Guide Lamp division of General Motors in Anderson after 45 years employment.He was a U. S. Army Veteran, a mason, and he enjoyed traveling and camping. Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara (Wyant); two sons, Mike Green and Mark (Tina) Green; six grandchildren, Britteny (Ben) Reid, Rebecca Green, Taylor Green, Shelby (Muzo) Demirtas, Kyndal Green, and Karrigen Green; three great-grandchildren, Kylar Hug, Owen Reid, and Caroline Reid; and one sister, Kathleen Mock.He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Delores Barnes.A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Hersberger Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Rev. Paul Strozier officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
