Roland Everett Kierstead

Roland Everett Kierstead, 77, of Anderson, passed away May 13, 2016.

He was born on September 25, 1938, in Fowlerton to the late Gerald “Art” & Christine (Brown) Kierstead.

Roland was part of the first class to graduate from Highland High School in 1956. He was an accomplished skydiver, having completed over 10,000 jumps. He also enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Kay (Nelson) Kierstead; children, Kim Schildmeier, Eric Kierstead, and Karla Kierstead; sister, Rosemary Wray; and grandchildren, Andrew Garrett, Kelsey Garrett, Katie Rose, & Maren Kierstead.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lowell & Patrick Kierstead; sister, Patricia Logston; and granddaughter, Lynsey Schildmeier.

Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Dean Pickett officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
