Roger Renbarger

May 10, 1937 — March 8, 2024

In loving memory of Roger Renbarger, 86, of Lapel, who passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 10, 1937, in Lima, Ohio. Roger was the definition of a life well-lived, leaving an enduring legacy of love and devotion to his family and community.

Roger and his devoted wife, Leah Sue, celebrated an incredible 68-year marriage, creating a lifetime of precious memories. He was a dedicated family man who found tremendous joy in the roles of dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He loved spending time golfing and was a proud member of Fall Creek Golf Club. His five hole-in-ones are a testament to his skill level and love of the game. He loved to hunt, fish and take care of his yard. One of his annual highlights was organizing 4th of July fireworks displays for his family, which became a cherished tradition.

He was loyal to his community. An avid Bulldog Backer, he enjoyed attending Lapel sporting events and made his love for his Bulldogs known by driving around in his custom black and gold golf cart, often taking his great-grandkids for a ride. Roger was also a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Indianapolis Murat Shriner and the Madison County Shrine Club. He retired in 2000 from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in Anderson.

Roger is survived by the love of his life, Leah Sue Renbarger; children, Rhonda Kuntz (William) and Jon Renbarger (Shelly); grandchildren, J.R. Renbarger (Abby), Kristen Taber (Kyle) and Kelsey Renbarger; step-grandson, Josh Hackney (Katie); great-grandchildren, Leo Taber, Jon Ryan Renbarger, Reese Taber and Benjamin Renbarger; step-great-grandchildren, Seth Hackney, Evan Hackney and Hannah Hackney; a sister, Idabelle Mills; sisters-in-law, Sue Renbarger and Judy Renbarger; brother-in-law, Duane Dickerson; and several extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Georgianna Renbarger; siblings, Raymond Renbarger, Ralph Renbarger, Mary Lou Dickerson and Jay Lee Renbarger; brother-in-law, Dick Mills; and sister-in-law, Leah Renbarger.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and care staff who supported Roger for their expertise and compassion, especially Julie Archey with Southern Care Hospice.
