Robert Van Hudson

Robert Van Hudson, 79, of Anderson, passed away June 25, 2021 at Community Hospital, Anderson. He was born on October 17, 1941 in Anderson to the late Russell and Adelaide (Bayless) Hudson. Robert served his country in the US Army. He retired as a Family and Addiction Counselor after 32 years. He was also the first coordinator of the Madison County Drug Court. He was a member of Central Christian Church, National Association of Social Workers, Friends of Bill W. and past member of the UAW #662. He was a bicycling and travel enthusiast having visited all 50 states and 20 countries. Robert is survived by his wife, Sally (Stokes) Hudson; children, Jane (Don) Sickler of Chicago, James Hudson of Anderson; grandson, Andrew Sickler; siblings, David (Marcia) Hudson, Julia Price, Julian “Bart” Hudson, Claude (Linda) Hudson, Claudia (Fred) Johnson, Andrea (Chuck) Adcox, Doug (Diane) Hudson, Peter (Tara) Hudson, Steven (Karen) Hudson; brother in-law, John (Marcia) Stokes, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother in-law, John Price and a sister in-law, Judy Hudson. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Central Christian, 923 Jackson St., Anderson, IN 46016 with Pastor Rick Vale officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, House of Hope, or the American Cancer Society.
