Robert N. Green

Robert N. Green, 82, of Anderson, passed away May 25, 2018, at St Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born January 24, 1936 in Jennings County, to the late Roe and Beulah Green. Robert was an Air Force veteran, attended Valparaiso Technical Institute and worked for Delco Remy, in plant 18, as an electrical engineer. He retired in 1999. Robert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as their Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts for many years. He also served in the BSA Sakima District. He coached Lapel youth baseball and girls softball. He and his wife enjoyed traveling as part of the Airstream Club, where he served as the president. He enjoyed time with his family, fishing for bluegills, and working in his blackberry patch, from which he would make pies and jam. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Green; six children, Teresa Lafata, Cherie Campbell, William (Kelli) Green, Richard (Angie) Green, Katherine (Jason) Brown, Anna (Justin) Walz; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris)Bennett-Faucett, Brian and Victor Lafata, Lauren (Kyle) Modad, Morgan (Ryan) Moss, Abbi, Megan and Samantha Green, Hunter and Gavin Green, Reese and Tyler Brown, Grace, Elijah, Ezra, Levi and Luke Walz; great grandchildren, Peyton and Seth Faucett; brothers and sisters, Mary Sue Bitner, Linda Miller, Paul Green, Gary Green and Judy Doran. He was preceded in death by infant daughters, Patricia and Pamela; brothers, Donald Green and Dannie Green; and a sister Barbara Galliher. Family wishes to thank Dr. Kopp, Dr. Eddy and the staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital for great care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Monsignor Robert L. Sell, III officiating, Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery.
