Robert M. “Bob” Greene, 81, of Pendleton, passed away November 21, 2016 at his home following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.He was born October 3, 1935 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Chester and Bonnie (Young) Greene.He was a Pendleton resident since 1962. He retired from Home Improvements by Bob Greene which he founded in 1955 in Anderson and later relocated to Pendleton.Bob was a 1953 graduate of Anderson High School and was a member of Pendleton First United Methodist Church where he had served as an usher. He loved horses and horseback riding. He owned and showed Arabian halter horses. Bob had a great love for his farm and woods where he enjoyed trail riding and which was a sanctuary for wildlife. He loved fresh and salt water fishing and boating in Florida where he obtained his Captain’s license.Survivors include his wife, Diane R. (Hoefner) Greene whom he married July 11, 1953; children, Lisa D. (husband, Tony) Dillon and Robert J. Greene all of Pendleton; grandchildren, Nicole D. (husband, Steve) Carr, Tiffany A. Dillon. Robert J. (wife, Tracy) Greene Jr., Baylee D. Greene and Lacey N. (husband, Jonathan) Valentine; four great grandchildren; and special friend, his dog, Roxie.Services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Dr. Doug Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday at Lahm Chapel.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st St., #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.Online condolences available at www.wilsonstpierre.com
