Robert Leo Bobby Baka, 48, Lapel, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on October 31, 1960, in Noblesville, Indiana to Leo and Betty (Harry) Baka.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1980.
Bob was employed at the Anderson Lowes for 11 years and had a personal mowing service for many years.
He was a member of the Pendleton Boy Scouts; and the Lapel Eagles Aerie 4323. He enjoyed his nieces and nephews and spending time with his family at cookouts and gatherings. He especially enjoyed the family trip he took to Disney World in 2007.
He is survived by three sisters, Jill (husband, Dennis) Renner of Anderson, Lee Ann (husband, Donald) Bennett and Lue Ann (husband, Danny) Shuck both of Lapel; four nieces and nephews, Britt (husband, Brent) Turner, Samantha (husband, Byron) Glenn, Heather (husband, Wade) Nethery, and D. J. Bennett; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Amanda Lue Bennett.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Derek Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, March 9, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
