Robert Lawrence Bond

Robert Lawrence "Bobby" Bond, 65 of Anderson, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born on July 22, 1951, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Lawrence Cecil and Emogene (Hankins) Bond.
Bobby graduated from Lapel High School in 1969 and he retired from O-I Brockway in 2005 after 37 years of employment.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was also a NASCAR fan and enjoyed riding his Harley.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley (Dowden) Bond; two children, Robbie (wife, Michelle) Bond of Lapel and Jami (husband, Chad) Clark of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Makayla, Ciara, Joshlynn, and Max; two great-grandchildren, Darrion, and Paisley; his mother, Emogene Dilg of Tennessee; one brother, Dennis (wife, Debbie) Bond of Noblesville; ten brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda (husband, Dale) Williams, Susie (husband, Walter) Moore, Debbie (husband, Rick) Kelly, Rick Dowden, Jerry Dowden, Tina Dowden (Tim Barker), Carla Dowden (Marc Davis), Misty (husband, Tony) Stiles, and Sammie Scruggs (Ron Davis); and special friends, Tim Beaty and Dale Passwater.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Linda Stinson; and a brother, Gary Bond.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home.
