Robert L. Sisson

Robert L. "Bob" Sisson, 77, of Pittsboro, formerly of Lapel, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper following a brief illness.He was born February 16, 1943, in Noblesville, Indiana to Forrest Sisson and Clara Mae (Parker) Sisson .Bob graduated from Lapel High School in 1961.He retired in 1994 from Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors .Bob served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Bob enjoyed golfing and hunting. He loved Jeff Gordon and NASCAR. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Shackelfurd; grandson, Brock Morgan; longtime best friend, caregiver, and companion, Judy Smock; brothers, James (Emily) Sisson, Larry (Darlene) Sisson, David (Lucinda) Sisson, and Phillip (Carolyn) Sisson. Bob was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles, Gene, and Irvin "Keith" Sisson; two sisters, Betty Borders, and Ruth Seal.A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Rev. Gary Klinger officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel, Indiana. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 212, Lapel.Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.Health precautions for the safety of family and friends will include facial coverings and social distancing at all times.Online condolences: www.hersbergerbozell.com
