Robert K. Mangas

Robert K. Mangas, 95, Anderson, went home to be with his Lord on December 12, 2014.

He was born in Union City, Indiana on July 21, 1919, the son of the late Clinton and Iva Mangas. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1937 and moved to Anderson in 1939 and began working at Guide Lamp retiring in 1980. He served as a member of the first Navy Seabee Unit from 1941 to 1945. Bob was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681, Yorkrite Chapter & Council Comandory of Anderson, Murat Shrine Temple, Madison County Shrine Club, United in Christ Church/Primrose and a former member of Chesterfield Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Mangas of Anderson; one son, John (Stephanie) Mangas of Brentwood, CA; two daughters, Sandra (Steve) Price of Gaston and Karla (Jerry) McKay of Pendleton; grandchildren, Courtney, Corey and Dillion Mangas of Brentwood, CA, Jennifer and Jason Bates of PA, Jennifer McKay of Indianapolis, Kristin (Derek) Keister and Karey Morris of Greenwood; two great grandchildren, Kaden Keister and Koen Morris.

He was preceded in death his first wife, Ida Root Mangas; a brother and sister, Carroll Mangas and Rhea Mangas; one son, Charles Lee Morris.

The family would like to thank St. Vincent’s Hospice and the staff and residents of Primrose for all their care and concerns.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory conducted by Fellowship Masonic Lodge and Pastor Samuel T. Jackson.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the VFW Post #266.

Friends may call from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
