Robert E. Collins

Robert E. Collins, 63 of Anderson, passed away, September 26, 2020, following an extended illness. He was born November 30, 1956, in Anderson, the son of the William and Lenora Collins. He was a 1976 graduate of Madison Heights High School, a lifelong Anderson resident and was self-employed as a mechanic working on small engines. Robert was a race car fan, he enjoyed watching all the different types of car races. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and taking care of his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Karen Collins; son, Robert William “Bobby” Collins; step brother, Dale (Lacreta) Phillips; nephew, Jeff (Angie) Phillips; niece, Julie (Russell) Hilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Audie Phillips; and a brother, William (Rusty) Collins. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Chris Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Due to recent COVID-19 mandates, all guests are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
