Robert Eugene Casey, 88, died on December 28, 2018. His wife of 53 years, Corinne Denari Casey and brothers Bernard, John and William preceded him in death. Born in Indianapolis on July 2, 1930 to John and Marie Casey and raised on the southside, he attended Cathedral HS, served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Lt. Colonel. He went to Butler University on the GI Bill, attaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and spent a career in Indianapolis Public Schools, serving as Vice Principal at Broad Ripple and Washington High Schools. He dedicated his life to God, family, education and service to his country – a man of quiet dignity who honored his wife and was a role model for his children. He is survived by four children, Robert Jr. (Leslie), Stephen, Diane Sare (Scott) and Catherine Root (David), nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Services in Pendleton. Visitation on Saturday January 5, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 E. Washington St., Indianapolis from 11am – 1pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm and private family internment service with military honors at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
