Robert C. Jannings

Robert C. "Bob" Jannings, 54, Lapel, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012, in Jennings, LA following a sudden illness. He was born on December 2, 1957, in Niles, Michigan to Robert and Dessie (Hickman) Jannings. Bob was a U. S. Army veteran and was employed by ATS, Inc. in St. Cloud, Minnesota and had been driving a truck since he was 18. He was a member of the Muncie Bass Busters and the American Motorcycle Association. He is survived by four children, Billy (wife, Christy) Jannings of Lapel, Melissa (husband, John) Miller of Cicero, Lindsey Jannings of Lapel, and Austin Jannings of Lapel; five grandchildren, Colin and Karlie Jannings, Dessie and Henry Miller, and Kerestin Hults; one sister, Pam (husband, Ed) Moore of Frankton. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, November 23, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
