Robert Bob Hodson, 86, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie following a brief illness.
He was born on September 5, 1921, in Anderson, Indiana to William and Zelma (Larmore) Hodson.
He graduated from Anderson High School. He was a WWII Army veteran and he received a bronze star.
Bob retired from Warner Gear in 1979 after 30 years of employment and then he owned and operated with his wife the former Rains Bowling Gardens in Anderson.
He was a member of the former Mt Gilead Christian Church, and the U. A. W.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda F. (Williams) Hodson; two children, Teresa Hodson of Anderson, and Daniel (wife, Donna) Hodson of Morgantown; one sister, Mary McBride of Anderson; five grandchildren, Kent (wife, Cary) Risk of Fayetteville, NC, Lora Risk, Bryce Hodson of Anderson, Chelsey Ashkettle of Franklin, and Amber Ashkettle of Indianapolis; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Pamela Risk and Terry Hodson; his step-mother, Zadia Hodson; one brother, Bill Hodson; and one sister, Anne Duckworth.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Gary Elsten officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
