Robert Allen Delaplane, 75, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on September 23, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana to Joseph Delaplane and Helen J. (Sokolich) Delaplane.
Robert attended Frankton Schools. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Shelly and Sands Paving. He always had a project going and loved to work. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved so very much. He loved to to make people laugh and and was a big teaser. He was also involved in the American Legion and the VFW.
Robert is survived by a daughter, Racheal (husband, Andy) Foor; a son, Jerald Runyan; Racheal's mother, Cindy Wightman; three siblings, John Delaplane, Delores Morgan and Pat Delaplane. He was also survived by a grandson, Koby (Fiance' Liberty Brown) Delaplane; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Delaplane and Donnie Delaplane.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Scott Troxell officiating. Burial will follow at Perkinsville Cemetery in Anderson. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Army and the Lapel American Legion Post #212.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
