Robert A. Layton

Robert A. Layton, 78, Noblesville, passed away Friday August 16, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on October 24, 1923 in Madison County, Indiana to Angus and Mildred (Boone) Layton.
He was a 1941 Lapel High School graduate and he retired in 1989 from Delco Remy where he had been a welder for 11 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel where he had sung in the choir for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Layton; a daughter, Deborah (husband, Jack) Davis of Noblesville; two sons, Gary (wife, Judy) Layton of Noblesville, and Tim (wife, Wendy) Layton of Noblesville; six grandchildren, Mandy Davis, Robbie Davis, Carol Layton, Audrey (husband, Vince) Shuff, Kevin Layton and Becca Layton; one great-grandson, Donovan Shuff; and a niece, Peggy Newlon of Greenwood.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev.s Evan Lash and Keith Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
