On December 8, 2024, Rickey A. Powless, passed away peacefully at his home in Anderson, Indiana, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with an extended illness. He was 81 years old.

Born on July 27, 1943 in Anderson. Rickey spent his entire life in the city that shaped him. A hard-working man, he was employed at ALAC Services until his retirement. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was an active member of his church community.

Rickey's life was defined by love and family. He married his first wife, Carol (King) Powless, on December 1, 1962 and together they shared 44 wonderful years until her passing on October 24, 2006. Their love created a legacy through their four children, Joe (Kimberly) Powless of Alexandria, William (Stephanie) Powless of Anderson, Vickey Robertson of Bullhead City, Arizona, and John (Tina) Powless of Anderson. Rickey was a proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; he always treasured the time he spent with his family.

In December of 2014, Rickey began a new chapter with his second wife, Loretta (Bornstein) Powless. Together, they built nearly a decade of memories and love. Loretta's three children, Scott (Carol) Webb, Cheryl Webb, and Ross Webb, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, became part of Rickey's extended family. Further enriching his life with their love and presence.

Rickey's kindess and gratitude extended beyond his immediate family, as he shared a special bond with his caregiver and friend, Pamela Boles. He also cherished his sister, Diana Hanshew, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol; parents; brothers, Lavaughn, Mickey, and Jon Dale; sister, Georgia Matheney; and son-in-law, John Robertson.

Rickey's life will be celebrated in a private service, with a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Maple Grove Church of God or Riley Children's Hospital.

His strength, warmth, and devotion to his loved ones leave a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
