Richard W. Hoover

Richard W. Hoover, 56, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on June 21, 1967, in Richmond, Virginia to Richard L. Hoover and Evelyn (Ferline) Fisher.

He attended Robert E. Lee High School.

He was self-employed as a mechanic and worked in construction.

He was a jack-of-all-trades. He loved NASCAR and football.

Richard is survived by his wife, Tammy (Beverly) Hoover; six children, Diana Graham of Elwood, Christopher Devereaux of Texas, Ricky Hoover of Kentucky, Steven Devereaux of Texas, Christina Devereaux of New York and Adrienne Hoover of West Virginia; two brothers, Michael Haggard of North Carolina and Jason Hoover of Virginia; and two sisters, Rebecca Hoover and Melissa Hoover both of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Karen Devereaux in 1997.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place.
