Mr. Richard W. “Dick” Grile

Richard W. “Dick” Grile, 83, of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional, after a brief illness. He was born November 18, 1933, in Upland to the late Noah E. & Edith C. (Byrd) Grile. He retired in 1993 from Delco Remy after 41 years. Dick was a member of Journey Church of Christ, he was active with Boy Scouts, and was a supporter of the Anderson Christian School. He was in the National Guard for 14 years. He is survived by children, Dean (wife, Tamara) Grile of Charleston, SC, Darren (wife, Susan) Grile of Anderson, & Dana (husband, Steve) Cash of Anderson; sisters, Ann Toler, Byrdie Smith, and Glendora Burger; grandchildren, Kristen (husband, David) Chapman, Brandon (wife, Jennifer) Grile, Karen (husband, Evan) Palmer, Colleen Grile, Sierra Cash and Patrick Cash; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Margaret (Hathcoat) Grile; five sisters; and five brothers. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Anderson Christian School.
