Richard L. “Dick” Neal, 84, of Anderson went to be with the Lord, July 20, 2017 at Countryside Manor. Dick was born August 24, 1932, in Henry County to the late Hubert and Ova (Morris) Neal. He was an Air Force veteran, working as an air traffic controller, and retired in 1993 from Delco-Remy after 42 years of employment. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson. He liked to garden and to spend time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Baker Neal; children, Mark (Carol) Neal of Grand Rapids, MI. and Debbie (Bill) Hoyt of Middletown; grandchildren, Jenny (Jeff) Ley, Andy (Tracy) Hoyt and Matt Neal; great grandchildren, Lilly Ley, Liam Ley, Keegan Bealor, Kelby Bealor; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, J.C. Neal, Albert Neal, and Jerry Neal; sisters, Freda Parmer, Julia Bicknell and Harriett Amonett; and a special sister-in-law, Ruth Neal Burk. Services will be 11a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Anderson, with Rev. Art Jaggard officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Leukemia Research Foundation.
