Dr. Richard L. Bohnenkamp Jr.

Dr. Richard “Ric” L. Bohnenkamp Jr., 47, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on October 9, 2014 at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis after a two year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

He was born May 9, 1967, in Anderson, IN. He is the proud father of his loving daughters, Sarah Michelle and Kelly Elise Bohnenkamp. He is the son of Teddy Pancol Bohnenkamp and the late Richard “Dick” Bohnenkamp, Sr. He leaves a sister, Rebecca and husband, Scott Vannatta; a niece, Julia and husband, Tyler Dickerson; and two nephews, Jeffrey Seitz and Jason Vannatta; a devoted and loving friend, Marsha Brady and family, Austin and Dana Elliot and children, Jason and Jaime Butcher and children and Logan and Tyler Brady.

Ric was a pathologist with AmeriPath group practicing at Community South Hospital in Greenwood. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1985 and was president of his class. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. Ric was member of the Phi Gama Delta while attending Indiana University. He was also a devoted member of the Greenwood Southland Community Church, and a frequent member of the Bridge Community Church in Anderson.

Ric lived a faithful life as a devoted loving father, son, brother, friend, and physician. Ric was compassionate, caring, generous, kind, and helped many to believe in themselves.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Steve Schellin and Pastor Chris Mishler officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
