Richard Joel “Joey” Hutchison passed away peacefully on July 10, 2020 with his parents by his side. He was born on October 9, 1962 and lived his entire life in Anderson. Joey worked at the Hopewell Center for 20 years. He loved Special Olympics in which he won several ribbons. He also loved wrestling, bowling, racing, race cars and he liked spending time with his nieces and nephews and going to Sissy’s house. He also loved his diet Mt. Dew, shrimp, mashed potatoes with cheese. He loved his Papa (Dad) and Dear (Mom). He enjoyed church outings, going everywhere is Papa did. Delno Sanders lead Joey to the Lord. Joey prayed all the time for his family. He would call his dad “Old Man”. Whenever he saw his nephew, Shane, he would say “Hey Big Boy”. Joey loved his great nephew Gabe and great niece, Gabby. He loved going to their basketball, football and volleyball games. Joey never met a stranger. He loved and hugged everyone. His smile was so contagious. Everyone he met loved him. The family has a lot of great memories of Joey. Now he is rejoicing with his Lord, who he loved dearly. Joey is survived by his parents, Pete and Myrna Hutchison; sister Tammy Hutchison McGuire (Charles McGuire); great nieces and nephews, April Robinett, Shane (Ashley) McGuire, Brianna McGuire, Hannah McGuire, Gabby Carmack, Gabe McGuire, Xander Hosier, Lani Smedley, Elaina McGuire, Isaiah Kelley, Shylee McGuire and Amari Kelley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Dora Willis, Joe and Lorene Rittenberry; first born great niece, Madison Carmack, and nephew, Frankie McGuire Jr. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastors Daniel Stevens and Doug Stein officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church of Anderson.
