Richard K. Hall, 67, of Pendleton, IN, passed away in the early morning hours of January 13th 2025, He passed peacefully in his sleep at home with his wife.

Richard was born April 19th 1957 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Melvin Kenneth Hall and Marjorie Jean Strange.

Richard graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, IN in 1974.

Richard married Karen K Caldwell on November 5th 1994 at Ingalls Church of God, with Steve Eggers officiating. They were married for 30 years 2 months. They met at Sunco Packaging where they were both employed. Richard lived with Karen and her children in Pendleton, IN. They raised a blended family, enjoying Richard’s son and daughters time often as they could.

Richard previously married Vivian Angelene Duff on November 15th 1975. Richard and Vivian were high school sweethearts. They had 3 children. They divorced in July of 1990.

Richard worked as an Equipment and Refrigeration Technician at Kroger. He retired from Krogers in 2014.

Richard especially loved old automobiles. He would enjoy attending and participating in classic car shows. His pride and joy was his 1972 Chevy C10 with a sporty corvette engine, you could always catch him ripping up the roads enjoying his drive. He was a back yard mechanic, a true jack of all trades. He enjoyed fishing either by himself or with his friends and family. His passion for good cooking was always enjoyed by many. He was proud of his BBQ masterpieces and was a king of soul food. As a hardworking man, he greatly enjoyed time with his entire family at reunions and other gatherings. His humor was always sarcastic and would always make you enjoy a good laugh.

Richard was an attendee of Center Chapel. Richard and Karen were active members. Enjoying the words of God from Pastor Marlin Fannin.

A favorite memory of Richard was while dating Karen, they were at Brown County State Park enjoying a horse back ride. Richard’s horse was named Bow. During the romantic, peaceful ride through the park suddenly Bow was spooked and took off like lightning. Richard yelled out “WHOA BOW” as they bolted past Karen on her horse ahead of him. The sound of muddy hoofs smashing muck below make the funniest sounds. Karen relieved that the sight of Bow and Richard coming to a normal pace made Karen laugh at her soon to be cowboy. The infamous story of Big and Bow go Whoa.

Remaining to cherish Richard’s memory are spouse, Karen Hall; children, Misty Wallace, Lisa Hall, and Aaron Hall; step-children, Alicia Mollenkopf and Joshua (Teona) Mollenkopf; grandchildren, Devon Haywood, Colin Haywood, Dejah Kinyatee, Trinity Kinyatee, Kiara Hall, Alexis Bennett, Corey Bennett, Nicholas Bennett, Jordan Poe, Trinity Mollenkopf, Tabitha Mollenkopf; great-grandchildren, Larez Kinyatee, Dezerai Kinyatee; sister, Kim (Bob) Smith; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Richard in death are parents, Melvin Kenneth Hall and Marjorie Jean Strange; brother, Larry Hall; sister, Robin Grayson.

There is no service scheduled at this time. A ceremony will be held at a later date tbd with family to lay Richard to rest at his requested location.
