Richard L. “Dick” Mroz, 75, of Shirley, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 10, 1942, in Noblesville to the late Stanley & Eileen (Hinkle) Mroz. He was a veteran having served during Vietnam and retired from the U.S. Navy as Post Master. After retirement he went on to several other things including working for the State of California as a correctional officer. He was a member of the Indianapolis Moose Lodge #17, Disabled American Veterans, & a life associate member of American Defenders of Bataan & Corregider. Among his many talents, he was a scuba instructor while living in Hawaii, and a Country Line Dance instructor as well. Dick loved travelling and had been around the world twice. He received his Million Mile certificate while truck driving. He also loved animals, but nothing compared to his love of his Harley. Dick is survived by his children, Danny (wife, Barbara) Mroz, Claribeth Davis, Patsy Mroz, & Ricky (wife, Margaret) Mroz; sister, Pat Mroz; 9 grandchildren; & 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Mroz, Sr. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 12, 2018, at St. Rose Chapel, 8144 W. U.S. Highway 40, Knightstown. Arrangements entrusted to Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory.
