Richard L. “Rick” “Rocket” Butler, 62, of Anderson, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born December 10, 1951, in Anderson, and lived here all of his life. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1970. He retired from Delphi, where he was a tool maker.
Rick was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, UAW Local 662, and the Lapel Eagles Lodge 4323. He enjoyed participating with the Soap Box Derby, watching Nascar, going fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Julia M. Butler, of Anderson; daughter, Julie R. Butler of Greenwood; two sons, David L. Butler of Middletown, and Cody P. Butler of Middletown, step daughter, Heather Dubuque of Anderson, and step son, Derrick Dubuque of Anderson, and four grandchildren, Olivia, Sage, Rachel, and Riely.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred “Pinky” and Clora (O’Connnor) Butler, and his sister Cynthia Butler.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Fr. Mark Walter officiating. Cremation to follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
