Rhonda Sue Powers

Rhonda Sue Powers, 59, passed away on January 7, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Rhonda was born on February 27, 1963 in Indianapolis to Royce and Sue (Roberts) Powers. She graduated from Park Manor in the Anderson School Corporation. Rhonda loved McDonald’s and even worked there from 1992-2020. She was a client of the Hopewell Center for many years and made numerous friends along the way. Rhonda found her spiritual home at Chesterfield Christian Church and was a faithful member for many years. She competed in the Special Olympics in swimming and always won Blue Ribbons, she never lost. She enjoyed bowling, listening to music, playing basketball, Diet Coke, doing word search puzzles and traveling to Florida. Rhonda also loved Garfield and Minnie and Mickey Mouse. She was an extremely active and social person, everyone she ever met loved her instantly. Rhonda loved her parents, but she especially loved her brother, David, and shared a special bond with him.

Rhonda will be dearly missed by her parents, Royce and Sue; brother, David (Jennie) Powers; nieces, Megan and Emily Powers; dear friends, Denise, Kim, and Karri; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at the Hopewell Center, especially Caitlin and Kelsea and the staff at Community Hospice.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. The service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Bronnenberg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rhonda’s name may be gifted to Community Hospice, The Hopewell Center, or Chesterfield Christian Church.
