Rhebel “Reba” Orene Brattain, 94, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016. She was born June 24, 1922 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to the late Thomas J. & Mollie L. (Looney) White. She moved to Anderson in 1943 and had attended Anderson University. Reba had been a homemaker and then retired from the Anderson Newspaper in 1978. She was a charter member of Century Home Ec Club. She volunteered at St. John’s Hospital. Reba is survived by her son, Larry Brattain of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandson, Christopher Brattain; step grandchildren, Randy & Rick Box; 4 step great-grandchildren; special friends, Don Grollemund & Mary Ann Sturgeon; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Brattain; stepdaughter & son-in-law, Sharon (Bill) Cherry; brother & sister-in-law, Ralph (Lyla) White; sister & brother-in-law, Ruby (Dick) Unger. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Pastor Gary Klinger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Anderson First Church of the Nazarene or the American Heart Association.
