Rex L Fenimore, 89, of Anderson, died October 7, 2014, at St. Vincent Heart Center.
He was born June 24, 1925 in Peru, IN., the son of the late Orville and Della (Surber) Fenimore, and has lived in Anderson since 1950. He was a WWII Navy Seabee, and served in both the European and Pacific theaters of war, including England, Normandy and the Philippines.
He attended Miami University in Oxford Ohio. He retired in 1985, after 37 years of employment with Belknap Hardware Inc. and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the American Legion.
He is survived by his six children, Susan (Michael) Frossard of Noblesville, Steven (Pat) Fenimore of Ninety Six, S.C., Mark (Mary Ann) Fenimore of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl., Chris (Carol) Fenimore of Ft Wayne, Cheri (Xavier) Romero of Woodstock, Ga., and Kevin Fenimore of Brownsburg; 25 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthann Fenimore.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, in Anderson, with Father Mark Walter officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service and Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
