Rebecca “Becky” Lee Purdy

Rebecca “Becky” Lee (Snaufer) Purdy, 74 of Pendleton passed away March 11, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson. She was born September 30, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio and was a Fort Wayne resident before moving to Pendleton with her husband, Wayne A. Purdy, 42 years ago. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.Becky was a 1965 graduate of Fort Wayne South Side High School and received her associates degree in Art from Ball State University.She retired from Regions Bank in Fishers following over 25 years of service. In her retirement, she loved working with her son and his family running a food vending business, Purdylicious. She also enjoyed vacationing with her family and rummaging through yard sales – she never met a person who was a stranger! She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports and was a Colts superfan.Becky was an avid golfer and member of Idlewold Golf Club in Pendleton and its Ladies Group for over 30 years, having served as treasurer for six years on Idlewold’s Board of Directors.Survivors include her husband, Wayne A. Purdy whom she married on October 23, 1971 in Fort Wayne; three children, Renee Purdy of Battle Creek, Michigan, Holly (Robert) Purdy-McMillan of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and Jeff (Kerri) Purdy of Middletown; four grandchildren, Kyle Lawrence Purdy, Bailey Harris, Nick Purdy and Addison McMillan; brother, Ron (Joan) Snaufer of Fort Wayne; mother-in-law, Kate Purdy of Fort Wayne; four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law and their spouses; as well as several nieces and nephews and her adorable yorkie-poo, Max.She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Margaret “Peg” (Hubbard) Snaufer and a brother, Andy Snaufer.Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
