Raymond C. Worley

Raymond C. Worley, 88, Muncie, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007, at The Waters of Muncie following a brief illness.
He was born on November 25, 1918, in Alexandria, Indiana to Raymond and Hilda (Duffy) Worley.
He graduated from Alexandria High School and he received a Bachelor of Arts from Ball State Teachers College in 1949.
Raymond retired in 1974 from Warner Gear after 18 years of employment, he then sold insurance for John Hancock and other companies.
He was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Martha J. (Dale) Worley; two children, Tim (wife, Jamie) Worley of Yorktown, VA, and Mary Ann (husband, Jay) Heineman of Anderson; eight grandchildren, Michael (wife, Jennifer) Worley of Carmel, Polly (husband, Bob) Needler of Noblesville, Jill (husband, Mark) Savage of Pendleton, Emily (husband, Greg) Reed of Frisco, TX, Hilary (husband, Basil) Hicks, III of Yorktown, VA, Matt (wife, Michelle) Heineman of Freeburg, IL, Nicholas Worley of Yorktown, VA, and Benjamin Worley of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Dorothy Barnett of Anderson; one sister-in-law, Joanne Worley of Anderson; twelve great grandchildren, Bobby, Cameron, and Andrew Needler, Tyler, Parker, and Ryanne Savage, Colin, Peyton, Carson, and Meghan Reed, Madelyn and Alex Heineman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, his parents; one son, Dale Raymond Worley; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Worley.
Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Tim and Mike Worley officiating. Private burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Marion VA Hospital, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana 46953.
