Ramphel “Ranny” L. Hinton, 76, of Anderson passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020. He was born November 16, 1943 in Anderson, the son of the late Jesse James and Mary Louise (Green) Hinton and lived here all his life. On September 27, 1965, he married Eva Skinner and together they raised their family. He worked for 25 years as a cook at the Alibi and then worked at Klipsch Music Theater. He loved to watch his sons race at Anderson Speedway. Ranny is survived by his wife, Eva Hinton, of Anderson; children, Richard (Devon) Hinton of Anderson, Kenneth (Tisha) Hinton of Tennessee, John (Angie) Pratt, of Anderson, Ranny (Tammie) Hinton of Anderson, Clifford Hinton of Anderson and Melissa (Joshua) Wilson of Anderson; 12 grandsons; 16 granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Anna) Hinton, of Anderson; sisters, Patricia Beeman, of Anderson and Luana Hinton, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Alma Hinton; grandson, Phillip Hinton; granddaughter, Liz Brewer; brothers, Tony Hinton and Jimmie Hinton; and brother-in-law, David Beeman. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Chaplain Danny Lane officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
