Rachel L. Rach Russell

Rachel L. Rach Russell, 83, Anderson, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born on July 6, 1924, in Lapel, Indiana to Ralph and Louise (Huntzinger) Smethers.
She graduated from Lapel High School in 1942.
Rachel was a homemaker and for 20 years had been the secretary of Russell Oil Company.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel; the Lida Teeters Circle; and Friendly Neighbors Home Ec. Club. She loved gardening and was an avid bowler and golfer.
She is survived by her husband, Inos Russell; one daughter, Janet (husband, Jim) Christophersen of Dublin, OH; granddaughter, Jessica (husband, Jeff) Allen of Boynton Beach, FL; a special daughter-in-law, Kay (husband, Jeff) Coffel of Noblesville; three grandchildren, David Coffel of Noblesville, Ryan (wife, Heather) Coffel of Pendleton, and Angela (husband, Josh) Wilson of Fairfield Township, OH; nine great-grandchildren, Nolan, Austin, Lexi, Colton, Ashli, Austin, Lili, Luke, and Cade; two sisters, Eloise Hunter of Lapel and Irma (husband, Jack) Hughes of Anderson; one brother, Keith Smethers of Westfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Russell, one brother, Donald Smethers.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
