Phyllis P. Harless, 87, of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield. Phyllis was born December 15, 1928 in Liberty, Kentucky to the late, Odie & Theda (Edwards) Phillips. Phyllis retired from Delco-Remy after 30 years. She was a member of the U.A.W. Local #662 and of the Redman’s Lodge. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her children, Steve (wife, Cindy) Wilhoite, Anderson, Linda Wihebrink of Anderson, Debbie (husband, Bill) Carpenter of Pendleton, Donald (Deanna Carpenter) Harless, Jr., and Rick (Lynn) Harless; brother, Jack (wife, Shirley) Phillips; sisters, Dixie Carpenter and Anita Jenkins; sister-in-law, Annette Phillips; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jay Phillips. Graveside Services will be 1:15 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, with Dr. James Harless officiating. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Heartland Hospice & Miller’s Merry Manor for the great care that was given to Phyllis. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association.
