Phyllis Marilyn Brown

d. September 25, 2016

Phyllis Marilyn Brown died peacefully Sunday morning, September 25, 2016 in Orange Park, Florida. Marilyn (her preferred name) and Harold moved to Florida in 1982 to fully enjoy the climate, to travel, work in the yard, research genealogy and spend time with family. Following Harold’s death in 1996, Marilyn continued to travel, involved herself in church activities, and participated in Garden Circle and Arrangers Guild. She always said moving south was a very good way to spend her later years. Marilyn’s life in Anderson was full, busy and happy. She loved decorating her home, being part of the PTA, while watching and supporting her kids in anything they cared about. Her daughter, Karen, married Robert Morris and lives in Fleming Island, Florida. Her son, Rex and his wife Claudia, live in Sacramento, California. Marilyn also was blessed with seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Everyone will miss her dry wit, her smile and soft laugh. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Harold F. Brown. Her mother, Vivian S. Breece; father, William I. Breece; sister, Carolyn Sue Shockney; and brother, William Breece died earlier. Marilyn requested a simple graveside service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bill Mathys officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Haven Hospice, 745 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL 32065. Haven provided wonderful, caring services to her family and friends that will not be forgotten. Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory is handling the funeral arrangements.
