Phyllis G. Wilson, 84, of Anderson, passed away January 24, 2017 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Anderson on September 27, 1932 to the late Samuel and Ruth (Baldwin) Wilson. She attended Anderson High School and was a lifelong Anderson resident. She retired from PayLess after several years of service. Phyllis lived at Longfellow Plaza where she also enjoyed taking pictures of residents for albums. She spent the last few months at Countryside Manor where she enjoyed interacting with her caregivers, even having them google questions regarding Royal history. She had a lifelong devotion to the study of the Royal ancestry of Great Britain and Europe. She also kept history of U.S. Presidents and was adding the new President to her historical list. She is survived by her daughter, Martha of Anderson; her sister, Mary Ducas of Tucson, AZ; her sister in law, Beverly Wilson of Pendleton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ramona Warrum; her brother, Charles Wilson; her nephew and grandson. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Countryside Manor and St. Vincent Anderson for the passionate care given to Phyllis. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Fr. Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the Longfellow Plaza Residents Council Fund.
