Phillip Martin Hinshaw

Phillip Martin Hinshaw, 73, Anderson, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson in Anderson following a brief illness.He was born on January 6, 1947, in Anderson to Keith Hinshaw and Elizabeth (Corn) Hinshaw.Phillip graduated from Lapel High School in 1966.He retired in 1998 from General Motors after 30 years. Phillip served his country in the United States Army. Phillip was also a lifetime farmer in the Lapel and Anderson areas. He loved square dancing. He was involved in Best Buddies providing Hay Rides and Fourth of July activities. He enjoyed his fruit stand and especially couldnt wait to sell his pumpkins each year. He was also involved in Madison County 4-H. He is survived by his wife Thelma Hinshaw of Anderson; children, Rhonda Hurt of Anderson, Bill (Becky) Thaxton of Indianapolis, Tricia (Darrell) Hammer of Noblesville, Keith (Amy) Hinshaw of Anderson, Nicole (Joe) Harrell of Elwood, Treva (Aaron) Hickman of Anderson, and Connie (Jeremy) Rickert of Anderson; brother, James Hinshaw of Anderson; three sisters, Mary (Dick) Falkenberry of Anderson, Sara (Tom) Gray of Middletown, and Jean (Greg) Baty of Middletown; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Rev. Steve Binns officiating. Burial will follow in Perkinsville Cemetery, Anderson, Indiana.Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 PM on Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Best Buddies, Pendleton Chapter, 1 Arabian Dr, Pendleton, Indiana 46064. Military Rites will be performed by the Lapel American Legion Post #212 and the United States Army.
